Information Bus

Information Bus is a built-in object in JReport containing information from global level, organization level and user level, which are key-value pairs of information that can be put or got by authorized users when calling APIs or writing formulas.

To edit content in the Information Bus:

1. Click File > Information Bus on the menu bar to bring out the Information Bus dialog. See the dialog.

   

2. The users are listed in the left panel. Select one to edit the information. The users here are the same as the users created for member-level security.
   

   The information from global level, organization level and user level are listed here. System admin can get or put information in all information containers. Organization admin can get or put information in the global level information container, its own organization level information container and the user level information containers that belong to its organization. Organization user can get or put information in the global level information container, the organization level information container it belongs and its own user level information container.

3. Click to add an information line.
4. Double-click in the Key column to input the key for the information. Then double-click in the Value column to input the value for the information.
5. If needed, click to add a new information line and repeat the step above to add new information. If any information is not required, select it and click to remove it.
6. Click OK to apply the settings and close the dialog.
