Report cubes are based on queries, stored procedures, imported SQL files, or user defined data sources, and thus we cannot define joins or built-in filters in report cubes as we do for business cubes. Except that, the way to add cube elements, define hierarchies and set pre-defined filters in report cubes is the same as in business cubes. When the catalog is published to JReport Enterprise Server, the business cubes and report cubes created in JReport Designer work the same in JReport Web.
In this lesson, we will not explain the process for creating a report cube in detail. If you like, you can take the report cube created on the OrdersReport imported SQL file in Data Source 1 of the JinfonetGourmetJava.cat catalog for reference.
