Adding conditional formats to fields

You can add some conditional formats to a field, which refer to the DBField, parameter field, formula field, summary field, and the special field Page Number or User Name, then when the specified condition is fulfilled, the defined format will be applied to the field values for highlighting.

To add conditional formats to a field:

  1. Right-click the field and select Conditional Formatting from the shortcut menu to access the Conditional Formatting dialog. See the dialog.
  2. Click the button to open the Edit Conditions dialog to define the condition as required. See the dialog.
  3. Click the Add Condition button to add a condition line.
  4. From the field drop-down list, select the field on which the condition will be based.
  5. Choose the operator with which to compose the condition expression from the operator drop-down list.
  6. Type the value(s) of how to build the condition into the value text box, or click the button to specify one or more values in the Select Values dialog (for details about how to define values in the dialog, refer to Select Values dialog).
  7. Click Add Condition to add another condition line and define the relationship between the two condition lines if required.
  8. When done, click OK to save the condition.

    The newly added condition will then be displayed and highlighted in the Condition box in the Conditional Formatting dialog.

  9. In the Format box, set the format which will be applied to values of the field when the specified condition is fulfilled, for example, the font face, font size, font color, etc.
  10. Repeat the above steps to add more conditions and define the format for each condition as required.

    To edit a condition, select the condition in the Condition box, then click . In the Edit Conditions dialog, edit the condition expressions as required.

    To remove a condition and the corresponding format, select the condition in the Condition box and click .

    To adjust the priority of a condition, select the condition in the Condition box and then click or .

  11. Click OK to apply the conditional formats to the field.
