Many environments, such as mainframe machines and dedicated servers, do not support a display, keyboard, or mouse. JReport Enterprise Server supports Java headless implementation, in which case you do not have to install a third-party tool, such as PJA, XWindows, or XVFB, in order to run JReport in a non-GUI environment.
The method of using a third-party tool is no longer needed but is still available in this release. It may be removed in the future.
